An Ode to Mi Hermano....

Today....is the day my brother was born.

My oldest brother to be exact. He is exactly ten years older than me....so if you can figure that out, you will know the big double digit number he is turning.

So since me and him are far apart, I would like to write an ode to his awesomeness.

Sorry Josh....but I am not that great at being lyrical, but bear with me....(most of what I have is courtesy of the internet)

Mi hermano,

I thought of a birthday gift, shiny and new...
That I thought I would purchase and send to you

Than I thought of a different gift, better than before
And I thought how you'd smile when it came to your door

In my mind it was awesome, and I imagine you thought it was great
But then I thought of the cost, and the shipping and freight

Being a college student, money is so tight
So I thought that this particular ode to you might be right.
Or at least...make your day bright.

I wanted to give or say just a bit
to you, my great big brother who is full of awesome wit

So, I am grateful for thy loving care
and for the times when we compared our hair.

I love you, big bro
and hope your life is never afflicted with one woe.

Happy Birthday! :)

b.

Awesome start....

You know the moment when the maintenance guy comes to your door at 10:42 a.m. to tell you they are going to shut the water off for 15-20 minutes and you look like a monster because you have yet to take a shower or do anything with yourself.

Yep....that was this morning....

Awesome start.

Awesomest Pics of the week....

Sunday:
Official Awesomeness in Pictures Day

Am I the only one who thought Neville was the dorky kid who was never going to grow out of his dorkiness?
Please tell me I wasn't.
Because....ummm....I fully admit I was wrong.
I judged prematurely and I am sorry.

And, by the way, I am totally available to help look for Trevor.
P.S. You rock that suit....dude.

After looking at Neville's attractiveness, I found this!!
How much more awesome can there be?
Now I can't wait to whip out my tennis shoes....
Whoever came up with this...
I applaud you.
Right on.

Friday after cooking class I made potatoes.
Doesn't really sound awesome, but it was my first time making them so....
I thought it was awesome.
Especially since they tasted pretty good.
Kristin and me pigged out on them.
It was a really good Friday....

Have you ever put your ear above a pot of eggs when the burner is just being turned on?
No?
Well....try it.
It sounds like the little chicks,
who were killed to make these eggs possible,
were screaming in their little chick language for help to get out.
I almost took the water off the burner.
Maria thought I was crazy, but she agreed with me.
Poor chicks....

But I have to say,
the poor chicks do make some awesome deviled eggs.
the chicken's sacrifice for man + other ingredients = blessed goodness.
Thank you, dear chickens.

Relief Society Activity Saturday.
It was good....
We learned how to sew buttons, iron shirts, fold sheets, and to tie ties.
The sewing part was the most awesome....
probably because that was the only one I did.
oops....
We made really cool little pencil bags though.

Kazoos are the most awesome things ever....
So awesome that Quinci and I I bought our own.
For a $1.69.
Free Shipping
In 5-8 business day....
I am super excited.

Big bananas taste better than normal ones....
and it was huge,
which makes it awesome...

Motivations....

Do you know what I love most about this time of year?

Leap year....no.....snow.....definitely not.....saint patrick's day.....well, yes, but that is not it.....

For all of you who guessed Starburst Jellybeans, you win a trip in your car to the nearest wal-mart to buy your own bag of deliciousness. Money for gas not included....sorry guys....I have no awesome prizes.

So yes, Starburst Jellybeans!! I love them especially the crazy core ones that have two flavors in one tiny little jellybean. I mean, who knew, right?

And the sad thing is, is that they only come out near easter, so the American population is only allowed to taste Starburst brilliance for two months out of the year. Does that seem fair?

Definitely not....

But while they are available, I splurge....and I use them as an incentive to get my homework done....

One for every page I finish....okey, maybe every half page....every paragraph.....

ahhh...well. Whatever motivates me to actually open the book, right?

Hello Wind. It has been too long.

Good evening....

Welcome to the first official weather blogcast for Rexburg, Idaho.

I will be you weather woman today.

Todays temperature was surprisingly above any that should be considered normal during the winter here in the Burg.

It could have been deemed warm, if.....and only IF the wind wasn't blowing at 300 miles per hour (might be a slight exaggeration there). All you could see when walking to class was hair whipping back and forth to the will of the wind.

Well....except for the guy's hair. Unfair....

Also, today there were many sightings of miniature lakes forming as the sun melted the ice all around town.

Ahhh....the wonderful blessings that come from snow. Ha.

But do not fret, the sun finally came out and melted more of the ice and hopefully gave the lakes time to shrink. If not, we are going to have quite a slippery walking excursion tomorrow.

On other news, I have just been informed of a new television show called, Ringer. It stars Sarah Michelle Geller, who plays the role of Bridget Kelly and Siobhan Martin, twin sisters. The show is  mainly about Bridget who is on the run from the mob, but finds a way to hide by taking her sister's identity when she "supposedly" commits suicide. But soon, she finds out the her sister has a price on her head, too.

As I delve deeper and deeper into the story, I can't seem to tear my eyes away.....it is just SO intense.

And every episode has so many twists and turns and problems that I cannot help but come back for more.

Plus, Ioan Gruffudd is part of the cast. I love Gruffudd....or maybe it is just his British accent.....nah.

Needless to day, I am hooked.

Which is not a good thing where my homework or my social life is concerned....

oops....

Dear Gerard....

Dear Gerard Butler,

I just found out today that you played the Phantom in the 2004 edition of The Phantom of the Opera. And after 8 years of thinking it wasn't you on my computer screen, I freaked out. My roommates can attest to that fact. I really want to believe it was you behind that beautiful, sultry voice and white mask, but I just can't.

I mean....look at the evidence....

Not Mine: Found Here.                                                                                          Not Mine: Found Here.

Does that really look like the same person?
I just can't make the link....I can't.

And it bugs me because I cannot believe after loving this movie for all of these years, I just found out TODAY that you played the Phantom.

I cannot believe it.....I just cannot believe it.

But if it was you.....you did well....but I still can't believe it.

A concerned fan,

Sunday Picture Rundown....

Every Sunday = All pictures with little narration from me (hopefully).

They have hybrid parking spaces now in a church parking lot
where the handicap spaces should be.....and I find that kind of ridiculous....do you?

My sister-in-law made homemade oreo cookies today and OH MY GOSH!
They were AMAZING!!
I ate way too many.
Way TOO many.....
But I don't regret it.....even if my jeans don't fit tomorrow.

You know I thought that The Phantom of the Opera, the movie version was the best.
I loved the Phantom and Christine and their amazingly awesome voices.
But I was wrong.....SO wrong.
It is much better on stage or at least the stage production displayed on my brother's TV.
And the Phantom's voice.....
Oh......it is hypnotizing and beautiful.
I groveled....a lot.....

Ramin Karimloo. An Awesome Phantom. YouTube him....

The Cool Down

This is what I got to sleep below last night.....and the experience was awesome.

It was like falling asleep in a magical land where fairies flew around sprinkling their sparkling sleepy fairy dust, which did indeed make me very tired.

And waking up to it was even more amazing......I wish I could transport it to my room in Rexburg.

Along with Andrew. I read a book with him this morning and he is getting so much more talkative. He is the cutest thing with his big blue eyes and awesome high-water pants.

Probably the only one who could pull them off......

Today was mostly a cool down day. I got to go shopping with Ben, Lindsey, and Andrew. I was finally able to replace my white undershirt...well...it really isn't white anymore. More of a light dirty brown. I know....disgusting, right?

And then we went to Target and as soon as I walked in, I felt like I have been deprived of a really close friend for a really long time. Target just makes me happy and wish it was another thing I could transport here to the Burg.

But most of my day was spent watching a really awesome japanese show.....sometimes I think they have better story lines over there than we do over here.

Then there was some bomb mandarin chicken made by my sister-in-law, Lindsey and a Bollywood movie which was very interesting.

It was called Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam or Straight From the Heart with Aishwarya Rai.

Not Mine: Found Here.

I liked it....but I am still not exactly sure what I think. The whole love triangle thing was a little weird for me, but I did love the songs.....and the clothes. Oh....the clothes were amazing!

Chicken, apples, four day weekend.....oh my!

I actually woke up on time today guys.....this is a miracle....an absolute miracle. I can't believe it.

It is so nice to be able to actually think about what I am going to wear, instead of just throwing something on.

....and then I got to my cooking class and none of my partners were there and I thought I was doomed. I knew I could never finish what the assignment entailed without someone with me.....

So you can understand how relieved I was when I saw one of them walk through the door....I think everyone heard my sigh of relief as she came in.

Thankfully, she was much less nervous than I was and she led us to victory......and we created this:

My camera doesn't do it justice.....but my taste buds sure did.

It was beyond delicious.

Then after, it was packing time.....except I didn't get any packing done.

Quinci came home and convinced me to watch a movie, but then we got to talking about social gestures and how people act when they liked someone and decided to go people watching on campus instead.

We tried going to the MC, but unfortunately.....all of the interesting people already left for the long week. Sad....I know.

But we ran into some of Quinci's friends and talked to them, which was fun.

After we gave up in the MC, we decided to try the BYUI bookstore.

And dude, we found something awesome. On one of the shelves there lied a half-eaten apple. --A real half-eaten apple.-- At first, I thought it was fake, but it definitely wasn't. The owner of the apple heard us talking about her apple......and she awkwardly admitted that it was hers.

It was a pretty funny moment. I feel bad though......

With the lack of people to watch, we decided it was time for a snack, which consisted of freshens smoothies, brownies, and sushi. It was pretty super awesome....

Packing time then commenced....and we headed down to Utah.

And I got to see my brother and sister-in-law, and my nephew, Andrew. When he saw me he pointed to me and said, "Beffannie".

It is one of the few words that make me want to explode with happiness....one of the few people, too.

It was just what I needed.....

Super.....really super.....

Happy day after Valentine's day to all of you....

Yesterday was super on my end.

It started with sleeping in which is pretty super stellar in my book. Especially when you have 8:00 am classes every monday, wednesday, and friday. Ughhh...never again I tell you.....never again.

Every tuesday and thursday though, I only have one class which is at 12:45, which is really when all the superness of Valentine's Day began to unfold.

But I must start with some background before I dive in. Our campus bookstore, in light of Valentine's Day, was selling rose petals and every time my teacher would walk through the bookstore he would see them and have an idea. He thought it would be so cool if someone lead him to class with a path of rose petals.

He shared this idea with our class almost every day that we met.

So I bought some fake rose petals.....

....and sprinkled them delicately from the door where he would come in to the podium he always taught from. It was pretty much the awesomest thing I have ever attempted to do up here at college.

And from the look on his face (sorry the picture is fuzzy, hopefully you can see the small "OMGosh" facial expression he is wearing), I am pretty sure he liked it.

I know that I did.....plus seeing all of the students faces when they came in the room to find rose petals lying on the ground was pretty priceless, too.

Then it was devotional time.....which I didn't fall asleep in. Yay!......but seriously, the speaker was really good.

After devo, my HE sister, Haley and I went to the Cocoa Bean to stock up on the supplies we would need for the next super moment of the day.....cupcakes.

Our Mission: to give out one cupcake with a quirky little pick-up line to a random stranger in the library WITHOUT geting caught.

I know....epic.

I wanted to use one of these....but alas...I wasn't sure.

So I stuck with....."without you in my life, it would be like a broken pencil, pointless". (insert ahhhhh.....) Cute, huh?

Anyway, Haley fulfilled her mission without incident, but unfortunately, I GOT CAUGHT.

Mission Failed.....oh well, hopefully I made his day.

The other cupcake I bought was really good, so hopefully his was too.

When we finished up with that, we headed back to our apartments and I attempted to get some homework done. Yeah.....didn't work. I fell asleep in the first twenty minutes of reading my Art History textbook. oops....

After nap time, another super idea entered my mind. PIZZA. I mean, who else is going to treat me tonight? So I texted Sarah if she wanted to resume our tradition of Alfredo pizza night.

I am so glad she said yes. We got a big box that came with pizza, cinnamon sticks, and cheese bread. It was so good......

The movies we watched were super sweet, too. We watched Bride and Prejudice and let me tell you, the music in the first dance scene is awesome. I really want the soundtrack.

But the thing that makes the movie super awesome is the fact that when one of the characters laugh it says....

....and he really does sound like a donkey.

If you don't believe me, check it out for yourself. It is so funny....

The Day Before Valentine's Day.....

Sometimes I think my life is so boring that it is unbloggable..... Is that a word? Probably not, but it is a pretty cool word. It is really fun to say over and over again. :) Try it.....

Anyway....

Funny story. In light that tomorrow is Valentine's day, some of my FHE sisters and me and Quinci, went over to our FHE brother's house and destroyed their apartment. We put rose petals in a trail leading to their bedrooms, balloons with candy in it ALL over the place, and we also flipped over their furniture.

It was so fun.....it was probably the most fun I have ever had the day before Valentine's day before.

We all went back to FHE after we destroyed their apartment.....and then followed them home after so we could see their reactions. They were pretty awesome.....pretty priceless actually.....

I wish I had gotten a picture.....hahaha.....

And as of right now, Sarah and me are watching You've Got Mail, which is one of the best Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks movie ever.

Aren't they just the sweetest thing? I love them.
Not Mine. Found Here.

With tons of Giant Sweet Tarts and CHOCOLATE.....

Best day before Valentine's day ever.

I never have too much hope that Valentine's day is going to be great.....or good even, but if today was awesome, it gives me hope that tomorrow will be pretty awesome, too.

So here is to tomorrow.....may all of you feel the love that you all deserve.

My Friday with Richard Armitage

I continued my BBC obsession today. I know....I know...probably not the best use of my time, but it was quite fulfilling and entertaining.

I finished Wives and Daughters after my culinary class this morning and was beside myself the whole time. Then I started to watch several other BBC productions, but none of them really interested me until I found Cranford, which is a pretty good show. Not as good as others I have seen, but I haven't seen all of the episodes so you never know. It could become one of my favorites.

Then around 2:00, I took a break from my obsession and watched Legally Blonde with the roommates. I just love the part when she is questioning Chutney on the stand. I could watch that scene over and over and over again. It is awesome!!

And then finally around dinner time, we switched back and watched North and South. I love this movie so much. The actors are sublime and the story is one of the greatest ever written.

But the best part of the movie is RICHARD ARMITAGE.

Not Mine: Found Here.

His eyes, his voice, his masculine stubble, his mesmerizing gazes, and, most of all, his smile made me go giddy and melt. It almost felt like I was Margaret standing there in front of him. Okay.....maybe more like I was wishing I was Margaret standing there in front of him.

I mean, what girl wouldn't want to be looked at with that look? It is the look that makes the heart beat faster and the brain turn to mush and the legs go weak. I don't think there would be a single woman out there who would say they didn't want that.

That look renders me speechless every time I watch the ending.....ahhhhh.....I could look at him for hours. I could watch the ending scene for hours. :) It is magical....

Not mine: Found Here.

The night then concluded with a party that my HE sisters were throwing. It was fun. We played apples to apples, which I enjoyed. I hadn't played the game in forever. I didn't win, but I did win some rounds and got some pretty awesome green cards.

Pretty awesome, right? I am not sure if all of those describe me, but hey.....they sure are complimentary....

Plus, it was good to catch up with some of the people there. I hadn't talked to some of them in awhile so I am happy I went.

A pretty good day, I think.

Wait...what am I saying?

Any day with Richard Armitage is a good day.....

b.

Confession.....

So everybody, I have a confession to make.....

I love British period films.....absolutely ADORE them. If you say the words Emma, Mr. Darcy, Wives and Daughters, or Downton Abbey, I go to insane, crazy fan girl mode. I just love everything about them.

Especially the British accents......ohhh....there is nothing better than a handsome man with a high waisted coat and an AMAZING British accent.

I mean....even now as I am writing this I am watching the end of Wives and Daughters, without even starting the movie at the beginning because we all know that the romantic ending where Roger realizes he loves Molly and they stand there in the rain looking at each other with love overflowing in both of their eyes is the best part.

Photobucket
                                                                                           Not Mine: Found Here.

It is the part that is most worth watching especially when I need a little British fix. I mean, how could Molly deny a guy who still looks amazingly attractive while sopping wet. I know I couldn't.....I would be beside myself in awe actually.

Too bad these things only happen in movies.

Darn you Jane Austen and all you other English Writers.....for making me wish that these stories and people and relationships existed.

But I love you none the less....you keep my hope alive.

Another Day....

Dude.....Idaho must me getting dryer because my skin is cracking like popcorn kernels. I haven't seen my hands this dry ever....

Anyway, today was good. Long, but good.

I turned in an assignment for my photography class today. It was based on motion, which was hard for me. I had to stage a lot of the photos, which is a weird concept in my opinion. I like to photograph things or people as the are, not in staged positions or actions. It seems more natural....and life-like and I like that.

But I think they turned out good.....

I especially like the second one. Emma posed in some of them for me. She is such a cute girl.

That was probably the highlight of the day. Most of it was spent sitting somewhere on campus reading my encyclopedia of a textbook (it is huge....and incomprehensible) or doing homework. You know....the usual.

Oh...plus I nodded off a few times. I hope I didn't drool......but wait, there was something wet on my hand.

Oh no.......ewww......

Monday, February 6, 2012

Today was very stressful.

I woke up at 5:00am thinking I could get some studying done for my test, but....uhhhh....let's just say that the light went back off about thirty minutes later. When I finally did get up, I gave myself a get out of make-up free card and took the last twenty minutes to study before class, which then consumed most of the hours following that.

My schedule looked like this:

8:00-10:00: Class

10:05-11:30: Study....Study....Eat Banana....Study

11:30-12:30: Class

12:30-1:13: Eat Sandwich.....Study....Study...Side glance at an attractive guy.....Study

1:15-2:45: Class

2:45-2:50: Walk to library

2:50-4:45: Study....Study....Study.....Freak Out....Study....Leave right as an attractive guy sits behind me (stupid test!)....

4:50-4:55: Walk to class

5:00-6:30: Took the mucho hard, hand written test. Took a little time afterward to Freak Out again.

All in all, it was a VERY long day. Way too long....I felt drained afterwards.

But by the time I got home, I found a package for me on the table from mis padres. It had a super cool hedgehog in it.....

I think he is super cute. I just need to name him.....but I can't think of a name that is as awesome as he is. Hmmmm....I kinda think he looks like a Billy.

They also put some chocolate pretzels inside. They know exactly how to make me happy! Thanks guys.

And then I went to FHE. We made french toast in a waffle maker, which somehow made them taste so much better. I don't know how, but it did.

Quote Time....

I was hanging out with my family a few sundays ago on google plus, which is basically just like Skyping except with three different people at once, which if you think about it, is pretty awesome.

Anyway, I was watching my nephew, Andrew, in that little video camera window thingy....and at this time his parents were quizzing him on bathroom etiquette. Oh by the way....he is a small child. See...isn't he the best...

 Isn't he the cutest thing???

One of the questions my sister-in-law asked was:

His Mom: "Hey Andrew. What do you do when you go poop?"

Andrew: "...."

Mom again: "Andrew. What do you do when you go poop?"

Andrew: "Pee."(spoken very confidently in the cutest little boy voice you can imagine).

The interaction was priceless.... It made me love this little guy even more if that is possible.

I can't wait to see him again......

b.

Rundown....

It is after midnight here in Rexburg and I should definitely be asleep right now....or reading my History of Photography book, but no, instead, I sit here in the hall of my apartment surrounded by semi-darkness, writing to the world.

Since I haven't written for two days, I will do a short picture-word rundown for you.

Thursday:

Subway sandwiches and Wife Swap with Quinci. Procrastination of Art History 201 homework. Sensational discussion in religion class. Pretty stellar day.

Friday:

Made homemade tomato sauce in my culinary sauce.....so good. Took my Art History 201 test.....got a B....wish I would have aced it. Ow.....well, there is always the next one. Came home and vegged on the couch while surfing pinterest. And then met with Quinci and her friends to have a MOVIE NIGHT!!! We watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding and The Notebook......edited, courtesy of Quinci. It was good, better than I thought it was going to be.

Saturday:

Woke up to an alarm going off in the apartment next to us......it kept going for about 15 minutes at 7:00 in the morning. I was about ready to punch somebody, but instead of getting rash, Emma suggested we get some earplugs. Best decision we have ever made. I just hope it doesn't go off again tomorrow morning.

Mostly the day was filled with homework.....lovely homework. And Hercules and You Again. Two Awesome movies. My roommates and I also went to the store. It was fun....it feels good to have a stocked cupboard again.

Oh....and we also made scar maps, which are pictures of us and where our scares are. I found out I really don't have that many....just five. I find it kind of sad......

Alright. Well. Off to bed. Sweet Dreams.

Morning Troubles....

This morning was rough....I seriously have no idea WHAT I was thinking when I signed up for an 8:00 a.m. class three days a week. I mean....who does that? It is insane and totally inhumane.

So as you can guess....I woke up late. I would like to blame my alarm for not going off, but I found my Ipod under my pillow which is where I always end up stuffing it when the alarm goes off so my plan to not be at blame was foiled.....

After finding I only had 25 minutes to get ready, I was assaulted with my appearance in the mirror. Ughhh....it just made me want to go back to bed more. Plus, as an added bonus Aunt Sally came to town. YAY...... It was lovely to say the least.

But contrary to what I believe, I have found out that horrible mornings do not reflect the mood of the day.

Since I got up late, I didn't feel obligated to put make-up on which surprisingly made me feel really refreshed. I could actually rub my eyes without looking like I have a black eye after....which happens far too often.....

Also, Heavenly Father sent some manna from heaven today. I checked my campus email and found out that I got a airline voucher for $200!!! How awesome is that..... Now I just have to figure out what I want to do with it. Hmmmm.....I'm thinking Ireland, maybe Rome. :) Jk....even with $200 off those flights would still be muy expensive.

A girl can dream, right? I mean look at this place. Soak up the lushness and the awesomeness.

Not Mine: Photo found here.

Don't those cobblestone fences and the lush green grass make you feel giddy? No....okay. Maybe that is just me. Ireland feels just like home......I want to go back so bad.

And then, 11:00 p.m, I ended my day with some cinnamon hot chocolate and religion homework. Both were enlightening, delicious, and just what my little soul was asking for.

Now to sleep the ugliness of this morning off.....

Goodnight. :)
